Pull a trailer into a shop, stack a container under a roof, park a lift inside for the winter, and a GPS-only tracker goes quiet. The asset hasn't moved. You just can't see it any more.

IQ-BATT-3 or IQ-BATT-5?

Both mount without wiring and both run for years on hardware-store lithium cells. They part ways on where the asset actually sits.

Choose IQ-BATT-3 when the asset lives outside

Three cells instead of two, and it holds far more onboard when there's no signal, so a container in a dead zone for weeks still hands over the whole history. It's the workhorse for yards, lots and open ground.

Choose IQ-BATT-5 when it goes indoors, gets washed, or gets cold

Wi-Fi positioning covers the indoor gap, IP69K survives a pressure washer, and the −40°C rating covers winters IQ-BATT-3 isn't rated for. It's also slimmer, which matters on anything with nowhere obvious to put a box.

Report as often as the asset deserves

One to four reports a day gives the longest battery life, and reports can start at a set time. Motion, timer and exception-based reporting are all on the table.

Asked about IQ-BATT-5.

How is this different from IQ-BAT?

Three things. IQ-BATT-5 is slimmer, it's sealed to IP69K and rated from −40°C instead of −20°C, and it adds Wi-Fi positioning so an asset parked indoors still reports. IQ-BATT-3 runs on three cells instead of two and holds far more records onboard when it's out of coverage. If your assets sit outside in the open, IQ-BATT-3 is the workhorse. If they go indoors, get washed down, or live somewhere genuinely cold, this is the one.

How does it find an asset parked indoors?

GPS needs sky. Inside a shop, a warehouse or a container yard stack, it goes quiet. IQ-BATT-5 also reads the Wi-Fi networks around it and uses those to work out where it is, so a trailer pulled into a building still reports a position instead of dropping off the map.

What can I put it on?

Anything with no power to it: dry vans, flatbeds, shipping containers, pallets, harvest bins, generators, road signs, dumpsters, portable lights, scaffolding. If it sits still and it's worth finding, it's a candidate.

How is it mounted?

Extra-strong magnet mounts are available as an accessory, so most installs are a matter of putting it where you want it. There's no wiring and no install appointment.

How often should it report?

One to four times a day is the sweet spot for battery life, and you can start reports at a set time. It can also report on motion, on a timer, or only when something happens that you care about, so a tracker on a container that never moves isn't burning power saying so.
